I think that this is the date when Rome fell. even though this may not be the actual day when Rome fell and there was no more Roman Empire, this was the date that leads to the decline of the entire Empire. I think this is the date because this date is when The Visigoths, led by Alaric, sacked Rome. this event was the first event that caused the initial fall of Rome. When the city of Rome was ransacked, the people of Rome still called themselves Romans but, this event is where we can pinpoint the inevitable decline of the Roman Empire. Even though this is not exactly when the Roman Empire fell, I think that this is the real reason why it fell.
