Five years after the end of Overwatch, a series of attacks are made on financial institutions, shadowy corporations, and former Overwatch facilities, all carried out by an unidentified male called "Soldier: 76." In each case, he steals Overwatch tech.

The United States turns its attention to apprehending him, and indeed, Soldier: 76 becomes the target of an international manhunt.

In truth, Soldier: 76 is Jack Morrison. Thanks to his raids, Morrison comes to equip an arsenal of cutting-edge technology. Now, he uses it to wage his personal war to expose the truth behind Overwatch's collapse: to find those responsible, and bring them to justice. He is currently tracking Reyes, and has been given information on his former's whereabouts by an unknown party.
