OSIRIS-REx was a mission completed by NASA on September 8th, 2016. However, it marked the first time CSA was involved in an “asteroid sample return”. Canada supplied the OSIRIS-REx Laser Altimeter (OLA), which was a laser system able to scan an asteroid from up to seven kilometers away.
