Lil Dicky is a niche rapper. Instead of adopting a similar sound to current rap artists, Lil Dicky took an opposite approach, and embraced everything about himself that made him unlikely to be successful in rap. “Professional Rapper,” is Lil Dicky’s debut studio album, and although he is inexperienced as a rapper, secured Snoop Dogg as a feature on his debut album. Lil Dicky is signed to Commission Records, and they distributed “Professional Rapper” in July 2015. “Professional Rapper,” although fairly successful, does not sound like most current hip-hop albums, and explores extremely different themes. Lil Dicky focuses on awkward encounters, saving money, monogamy, and pregaming in his songs. He also features comedians as features on “Professional Rapper,” adding a comedic element to his music.
