The left Popular Front won the Spanish Elections of 1936. The right would then result to much more violent measures and would attempt to overthrow the left. The actions taken by the right outlines the whole pattern the events leading up to the civil war, where the left and right destroyed any progress or hope at creating a sustainable Spain in attempts to win back at the opposing wing.
