He was a man beaten down by life's circumstances and by his own mistakes. He was an inmate of the Florida State prison, serving time for stealing money at a poolroom. He had been a runaway since age 14 and now wanted out to take care of his family. He insisted he was in an unfair trial for a crime he didn't commit. He had won and made legal history.
