Spain struggled during the Economic Depression that affected other countries worldwide. For example, iron production fell 30% between 1930 to 1950. As a result from unemployment rates rose high 400,000 in 1931 to 600,000 by 1933. The people of Spain had hoped that the government would help fix these problems, however, due to falling tax revenues they are unable to fix these problems.
