1 jan 1886 ano - The Formation of Worker's Unions
Descrição:
It's hard to find a set date for when the first unions were formed. However 1886 is a widely agreed upon date in America, as that is when the American Federation of Labor (AFL) was formed. Although unions would form in other nations, I can not find any dates for when they might have formed. These unions were formed by workers who believed they were being treated poorly by their employers, and wanted to change standards. Their actions usually involved striking against the employer to encourage the employer to improve worker conditions. After all, the employer couldn't make money without the workers. This is significant to history for a very major reason. If not for these labor unions, child labor may still exist, minimum wages might not exist, and worker condition would never improve. This event also happens to connect to the industrial revolution in Britain, as the formation of factories occurred due to industrialization in Britain, and it was the poor condition in these factories that caused the formation of labor unions.
