The pact of San of Sebastian was a meeting held and led by Niceto Alcala (Spanish lawyer and a prime minister in the second republic) and Miguel Maura(Spanish prime minster and president for the second republic) which took place in San Sebastian where a pact of republicans met so they could make plans in order to over throw the military dictatorship and establish the new democratic government. Also the opponents of the monarchy met up and the dictatorship met up in the town of Basque during august 1930 to discuss more of the overthrowing plan. This pact united Spain's socialist and liberals and conservatives so they all can come together and out power the military dictatorship that was ruling the country at the time and this also included advocates the best autonomy for Catalonia and the basque region. This main point was the start of everything for the Spain civil and and the new second public government
