SNCC was founded in Raleigh, North Carolina. SNCC served as one of the leading forces in the civil rights movement. SNCC worked alongside the NAACP to push the passing of the Civil Rights Act in 1964. SNCC became more militant by the late 1960’s and advocated for “Black Power”.
