In a wind-swept beach in North Carolina, two brothers, Orville and Wilbur, created the first powered aeroplane that lasted 59 seconds in the air 20 feet above the sand.

The plane was given many flights, the first flight gave 12 seconds and covered 120 feet while the record flight was 59 seconds over 852 feet.

They had prior experimented with more compact and aerodynamic gliders and now were experimenting with powered flights.

They notified several newspapers about their massive change in history but only one mentioned them.
