The American Declaration of Independence meant that 13 of Americas colonies were free from allegiance to the British Crown and the political connection between America and Britain should be completely disestablished. It was signed by the 13 representatives from each colony, it became a founding document for the American government along with the Constitution and the Bill of rights. The Declaration was a 1,320-word document written by Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Addams and Robert Livington. The document outlined 27 specific grievances against The British crown and King George the third as well as declaring that the 13 British colonies of North America should now be independent.
Significance-
It meant that the 13 colonies were independent and was the start of America becoming independent.
