The first flight of a powered and controlled plane was a revolutionary time and a big part in history.
This invention and modification to planes changed the world. Now, in stead of taking boats overseas that may take days or even weeks, can now take hours.
The two brothers created their own wind tunnel so that they could retrieve more accurate data and therefore improve the design. The original patent did not say that it was a plane, but said it was a system of aerodynamic control that manipulated a flying machine's surfaces.
