The Treaty of Versailles was signed by the Germans after the events of WW1 in Paris. The USA, Britain and France teamed up and created the treaty. It basically blamed Germany for the entirety of the first world war. Reparations where given to all of the big three. But the most went to Britain and France. It also took away heaps of Germany's military.
Causes:
1 - The British and French wanted reparations for equipment and infrastructure.
2 - The Germans were worn out and had lost heaps of troops and military weaponry.
Effects:
1 - This led to the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party
2 - The Germans were made at the big three for being forced to accept the terms. So this led them to trust Adolf even more.
