Underground Railroad conductor Elisha Sortor, a European immigrant to Quindaro, is remembered in the contemporary black community of Quindaro when African American descendants of escaped slaves, Jesse Hope invites Sortor's descendants, Judge and Mrs. Sortor to the Hope family reunion in the 1980s.
