The Odyssey was the first video game home console, invented by Baer and sold by Magnavox. Atari released the arcade game Pong under the guidance of Ralph Baer, which became a massive success. In 1952, they released the home console version, which allowed people to play the game without having to pay a quarter every time they wanted to play.
