Goals: Lee’s army left for Shenandoah Valley, where Lee planned to raid into Pennsylvania and relieve the Virginia countryside.
Leaders: Robert E. Lee & Richard S. Ewell (Confederacy), George G. Meade (Union)
Results: Meade was able to keep Lee out of the north, but was criticized for not further pursuing the Confederate Army.
