He used his planetary model to conduct the gold foil experiment by using gold foil. His evidence was that the nucleus was dense because of the 80 degrees deflection. He knew that atoms have a positive charged nucleus, most atom's mass is located in the nucleus, atoms are mostly empty space and he predicted neutron because atoms had more mass than expected.
