While browsing my phone, I went through many different social media sites, such as Facebook and Instagram. Both of these companies are owned by Facebook, a multinational corporation based in California. Statistically, Instagram is the most influential social media platform to date. Instagram provides an international basis for connecting people around the world. With this, businesses have a much easier time advertising and selling their products. Instagram generates more sales and consumer response than any other social network. It was determined in the research which studied the fifteen biggest influencers of consumer behaviour. In the first three places are friends, family and partners, followed by consumer reviews and television. Instagram comes in sixth place, in front of Facebook which is seventh. Most millennials use Instagram and over 67%, aged 18-24, have said that they’ve purchased a product seen online. As such, the globalization factors impacted are cultural, as another American company has spread its influence throughout the world, and economical, electronic payment is being used to buy products.
