The Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty was a treaty between the Soviet Union and United States that limited nuclear arms. The treaty required both countries to destroy all nuclear missiles that had a range between 500 and 5,500 kilometers. This was the first time the countries agreed to reduce the size of their nuclear arsenals.
