US sponsored rebel invasion of Cuba in an attempt to reverse the Fidel Castro's dictatorial communist revolution in Cuba. The attempt ultimately failed and was a blemish on America's reputation as well as a low point in JFK's presidency. This is important because it's failure leads to the Cuban Missile Crisis, and bad blood between the US and Cuba for years.
