Also known as the Y2K scare, this phenomenon was around the time of the 21st century, and this is when it occurred. During this phenomenon, users and programs feared that computers and all things related to it would stop working on December 31st, 1999, just around the peak of the 21st century. Panic spread due to this, and there were many people who were worried about it. The Y2K was a bug, that may have caused problems when dealing with dates beyond December 31, 1999. This bug that was introduced to computer programmers around the world on Januaru 1st, 2000, is also known as the "milennium bug".
