Grace Hopper was born on December 9th, 1906. She was an American Computer scientist, and she worked for the United States Navy. She was one of the first programmers for the Mark 1, which was created by Harvard. She also invented one of the first linkers. Grace Hopper developed the first working compiler and this led to her making and developing COBOL (Common Business-Oriented Language) in 1991, which is a programming language that is still used to this day. She died a year later, on January 1st, 1992.
