The bill directed the USDA to develop a nationwide product to provide revenue insurance for more diversified farms. Specialty crop farms, integrated grain-livestock farms, organic farms, and farms geared to local markets are all included in the Whole Farm Diversified Risk Management, which had previously been left out of the federal crop insurance systems to date.

2014 was a year for large cuts to the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). The program was cut for 10 million acres per years and in total reduced it 28 million acres.
