One of the most famous Irish puppets is Bosco, who has for nearly 40 years remained an Irish national treasure. The red haired and red cheeked puppet is described as ‘cheeky, lovely, funny, eternal five-year-old who lives in a box’ (Hawks Well Theatre). The favourite Irish puppet show began as an RTE production in 1970s and 1980. The show reached a full production in 1980 which lead to Mirium Lambert taking over as producer. There were 386 episodes and it came to a close in 1987. During each episode Bosco interacted with its co-host some of which includes;
