1 jan 1908 ano - Muller v. State of Oregon

Descrição:

Oregon enacted a law that limited women to 10 hours of work in one day. Curt Muller, a laundry owner, was charged as he required Mrs. E Gotcher to work more than 10 hours. Muller appealed the conviction. While this was intended for the protection and welfare of female workers, it is also argued that the decision reinforced gender stereotypes that women are physically weak and cannot work under the same conditions as men.
