This was the first conference that brought together women from different racial backgrounds, unifying the participants towards achieving the goal of cultivating a new, holistic network for people of color, both women and men, to advocate for anti-violence activism. The main spokesperson for this conference was Loretta Ross. She was once a victim of rape and given her ethnicity and background, she sought after helping other women with the same difficulties.
