The Proclamation of 1763 was issued by King George following the French and Indian War. The colonialists fought hard and in the end the British won and acquired an enormous amount of French Territory. The Colonialists wanted to expand/ form new colonies and settle in the new land. King George said that no one was allowed to because he didn't want to Instigate a war with the Native Americans. This lead to tension between the Colonies and the Crown.
