When the Texans attacked the Mexicans were surprised because they were in a siesta. The battle only lasted 18 minutes. The Texans lost less than 10 soldiers. The Mexican army lost 650 men. General Santa Anna was found wearing a regular army uniform because he didn't want to be seen and killed. General Sam Houston injured his foot. The battle ended with a Texas victory given them their independance.
