In the Junior College yearbook, The Jayhawk, student editor Robert Hudson stated, “The Junior College in the modern educational system is rapidly growing in magnitude.” That year KCJC was the largest community college in the state of Kansas with nearly 2,000 students. Robert Hudson later became a highly regarded M.D. at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was renowned especially for his knowledge of the history of medicine, a course he taught for University of Kansas for many years.
