An audit of the McKeesport Area School District was requested based on allegations of irregularities in improper certification of school personnel, lack of parent involvement, unsafe environment for children, insufficient instruction time in Title I, and violations of student rights in the special education program. The superintendent is quoted saying "My whole reaction is that I am happy the district is operation all its educational programs in compliance with the state, but I'm unhappy thatches letter (calling for the audit) has kind of affected the district's image from a professional viewpoint.
