Mary Jane Kirby a resident of McKeesport who has seven years of teaching experience was denied a job at the McKeesport Area SD because the school district can't afford to pay her what her experience is worth. Although they say they would like to hire her because she is African-American. The district only has 16 black teachers on a staff of 339 which serve a community of approximately 25% Black students.
