Wyandott City was founded in 1844 in the area of p.d. downtown Kansas City, Kansas. (Note: Wyandot City was not incorporated and renamed Kansas City, Kansas until 1872. In 1886 the city was expanded to include Armourdale and Riverview areas and in 1997 voters approved the consolidation of Wyandotte County with the city of Kansas City, Kansas.)
