Scientists from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) project, a joint effort by NCI and the National Human Genome Research Institute to examine DNA and other molecular changes in over 30 types of human cancer, found that gastric cancer is actually four different diseases, not just one, based on different tumor characteristics.
