1 jan 1837 ano - First Practical Electric Telegraph
Descrição:
The first two practical electric telegraphs appeared around the same time in 1837. Both were made by british inventors, one developed by Sir William Fothergill Cooke, and the other by Sir Charles Wheatstone. Both obtained a patent on a telegraph system that employed six wires and actuated five needle pointers to galvanoscopes at the receiver. When currents are sent through the proper wires, the needles are made to point to specific letters and numbers on their mounting plate.
