Little Rock Nine was a group of African American students that enrolled in Little Rock Central High School, Arkansas after it was desegregated. The group consisted of Melba Pattillo Beals, Minnijean Brown, Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest Green, Gloria Ray Karlmark, Carlotta Walls LaNier, Thelma Mothershed, Jefferson Thomas, and Terrence Roberts. The major cause of this is the Court case of Brown v. Board of Ed. as this decision desegregated schools. The result of this would be Cooper v. Aaron where it was deemed unconstitutional for the Arkansas School Board to delay desegregation.
