4 set 1957 ano - Little Rock Nine
Descrição:
The Little Rock Nine were a group of black students who were the first to integrate a previously all-white public school. Governor Orval Faubus called in the Arkansas National Guard to prevent them from entering, but later President Eisenhower sent federal troops to escort them into school at Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. This integration came after the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case that ruled against the segregation of America's public schools. As a result of the Little Rock Nine, integration spread as a trend across the nation.
