Machine that quickly removed seeds from cotton making cotton a lot faster, cheaper, and easier to produce. This increased sectionalism because it gave farmers a bigger need for slavery making it a vital part of slavery saving it from the North's’ attempts to abolish it. It caused most of the future issues between the North and South.
