20 abr 1971 ano - Swann v. Charolette-Mecklenburg Board of Education

Descrição:

This case was over whether or not it would be constitutional for busing of students to be used as a method for ending defacto segregation that persisted in American public schools. The case was primarily argued by the NAACP against the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school district over whether the six-year-old James Swann could be bused to another district. It occurred in North Carolina which was a more moderate southern state in terms of racial prejudice. The cause was the lack of integration in public schools and the effect was more hasty integration into these schools.
