at this time major sneaker names began to rise, names like Adidas and vans and Nike. at this time Adidas was more popular and overall a better shoe in the market. brands like Adidas were making more high tops and brands like Nike were creating more of a running shoe. in 1974 Adidas took Nike to court over the Adidas Aztec. Nike designed a sneaker and also named it the Nike Aztec. the court ruled in the favor of Adidas and made Nike changed their name of the sneaker to the Nike Cortes, Cortes was the men who beat the Aztecs
