The Nintendo Wii is the highest selling Nintendo Home console with 101.18 million units world wide (as September 2017) the main reason the console was so popular was its ease of use. the console was marketed as a family console and had many games that allowed for people of all ages to play along in party games like Wii Sports. The System was the only home console to fully utilise motion control and have most games fully dedicated to it. The Wii came with a sensor bar that detects the controller. The first version of the console had backward compatibility with the GameCube. However, the second didn't not and was know as the family version. The mini version was also released and was smaller, redesigned Wii with a top-loading disc drive with no S-Video, RGB SCART output, GameCube compatibility, online connectivity, the SD card slot and Wi-Fi support. The mini only has one USB port unlike other models that have two. the Mini was released in 2013. Major games for this console was the Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Sports Resort. The most significant Wii accessory is the Balance Board which, with game Wii Fit, allowed the user to exercise and keep track of there weight and health.. The Wii MotionPlus is an accessory used for more accurate motion controller. The Nunchuk plugs into the Wii Remote and give the user an analogue stick for games that require walking around a 3D environment are that makes the player move both arms to run like in Mario and Sonic: at the Olympic Games. Mario kart and other Wii racing games would not be the same with out the Wii Wheel that the Wii Remote inserts into to make motion controlled driving a little easy and create the feeling of actually being in a car. The Wii Zapper is a gun accessory that utilises the Wii Remotes Motion controls to aim at parts of the the screen, a big improvement of the light sensor version for the NES.
