A plan suggested by Benjamin Franklin to unionize the New England colonies to defend against Native American and French attacks. The plan didn't come to fruition, but it still was favorable for the colonists because it was the first time delegates from several colonies discussed unionizing. This would eventually lead to more congresses where talk of unionizing would be less alien.
