1 maio 1440 ano - Printing Press
Descrição:
Over in the Holy Roman Empire, a man by the name of Johannes Gutenberg developed a revolutionary new machine known as the printing press. Before this point, all literature, papers, and books had to be written out manually by hand, making copying an extremely slow process. Now by combining movable type, adjustable moulds, and oil-based inks into one practical machine Gutenberg made production of books for the masses a reality.
Now information and ideas were no longer restricted to just the wealthy and educated. Everyone could read journals, textbooks, and Bibles bringing fourth a middle class that would threaten the power of political and religious authorities for centuries to come.
