This was the beginning of the “space race”. Once the Soviet Union launched the satellite, Spudnik, into space. The U.S. became worried as they thought that the Soviets had an upper hand with technological advances in their “arms race”. This could have also helped the Soviet Union in creating better political and economic relation with countries within Africa and Asia. The coloring for this would be red, because the Soviets gained an upper hand over the U.S. and started they the started the “space race”.
