7 nov 1811 ano - Battle of Tippecanoe
Descrição:
Infuriated by by the Treaty of Fort Wayne, Shawnee warrior and chief Tecumseh attempted to revive the idea that native lands could only be sold to the U.S. when all tribes agreed, and that the tribes needed to unify against the U.S. threat. He threatened to attack anyone who tried to settle on lands purchased without the consent of all tribes, and he was preparing for war. When Indiana territory governor Harrison learned of this, he sent a company of a few thousand men to Prophetstown, Tecumseh's base of operations, repelled Indian attacks, and burned the town. (Continuity: U.S. aggression towards Native Americans, U.S. crushing Native resistance to expansionism) (Effect: Tecumseh's movement was crushed)
