Descrição:

Led by Blanca Canales; one of the most notable among the various revolts which occurred that day. Canales gave a speech in the town square and declared Puerto Rico a free Republic. Under the direction of the Puerto Rican commander of the Puerto Rican National Guard, the town was attacked by US-supplied planes and artillery. The town was held by Nationalists for three days.
