1 jan 1924 ano - 1924 - The Immigration Act of 1924 banned all immigration from Asia and set a cap of 165,000 on all annual immigration from Eastern hemisphere countries. It also made the quotas from the Emergency Quota Act more strict, revising them to two percent of the population in the 1890 census, which was regarded as representing a time when the US had less 'undesirable' immigrants.
