On September 7, 1927, Philo Farnsworth's image dissector camera tube transmitted its first image, a simple straight line. Two years later, Farnsworth transmitted the first live human images. This has evolved into something amazing in 2017. We are now able to receive news reports, sporting events, and much more through the television.
