Continuation from the success of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "The Phantom of the Opera", Universal entered the Golden Age of monster movies within the 1930's, releasing a long line of hit horror movies starting with "Dracula" and "Frankenstein" in 1931 which included the extremely controversial "Freaks" and a Spanish version of "Dracula" often thought to be superior to the English version. Germany continued its artistry with "Vampyr" and "M", the Fritz Lang thriller but Nazi Germany forced a lot of the filmmaking to emigrate. Within the 1930's te first American Werewolf movie was produced known as the "The Werewolf of London" and also the first zombie movie known as the "White Zombie" and the landmark of special effects was released, "King Kong".
