The first package holiday, as we know it, was organized in 1949 by Vladimir Raitz, he flew 32 passengers to Corsica and charged them £32.50 each, but not many people could afford package holidays, they later became hugely popular in the 70's, as people figured out they could have somebody organize their holiday for them. Today, package holidays are provided by almost every tour operator as they are a huge selling point and people can afford them.
